Xstrata Recycling places the highest priority on the safety and well-being of our employees. That is why we have developed strong safety programs, including extensive training modules. In addition, our process is designed to minimize exposure to hazardous materials. We also track key health and safety measures, including air quality and Reportable Injury Frequency (RIF) and perform quarterly risk assessments to ensure that our facilities are promoting a healthy working environment.
We are proud of our safety record, including Corporate Safety Awards for our San Jose and East Providence facilities, which each attained a RIF of 0.00 in 2006, meaning no workplace injuries resulting in time off work or modified assignments.
